Episode 28: Wine Witches and White Water
The Morris Pratt Institute
Built in 1889 and opened as a school after his death the college focused both on traditional education as well as spiritualism.


Morris Pratt
Morris moved to White Water WI from New York, after investing in the Ashland Mine he built and started the Morris Institute to follow his true passion, spiritualism.


Mary Hayes
A school teacher who claimed to be possessed by a spirit at age 27 that gave her the ability to see sickness in others and cure it. She claimed this spirit told her to start the Ashland Mine with her children, which prompted her to find investors. She later moved to California where she started the True Life Church in San Jose California. She never charged money for the "healing services" she preformed.


Witches Tower
A water tower that town legend claims is the site of witches ceremonies from the 1800's. It is now closed but locals state they can see lights shining from inside at night even though no one has access to it.


Witches Triangle
Local lore in White Water state that the mathematical triangle open a door to the spirit world resulting in any buildings residing within the triangle being haunted.
