Once upon a time in the sleepy mountain town of Granby, Colorado, a man named Marvin Heemeyer decided that zoning disputes were so last season — and that if life gives you lemons, you build a tank out of a bulldozer and flatten the citrus grove.

Marv, a welder and muffler shop owner, got real tired of city hall telling him what to do. So naturally, instead of writing an angry Yelp review or running for city council like a normal disgruntled adult, he thought:

“What if I turned this Komatsu D355A bulldozer into the love child of a tank and a bunker, and gave it a purpose?”
