Boudica
The leader of the Iceni tribe in the UK in 60 AD, she fought the Roman's after the death of her husband an an assault against herself and her daughters. It is estimated that she raised an army of about 230,000 soldiers before her defeat at the Battle of Watling Street where the Roman's had an upper hand because the the terroir they chose as their battle ground.

In the 1600's being a widow was the only escape women had from marriages that were abusive and controlling. This has made it part of modern folklore in modern culture with the rise of Project 2025.
