The Melt Down
On April 26, 1986 (Kyla was gleeful reminding Nicole SHE wasn't even alive yet) Chernobyl melted down throwing nuclear energy into the world around it killing those that worked and lived near the reactor.
The Cement Coffin
Many locals were paid to stop the fires within and on top of the reactor. All of these men died of radiation poisoning. Eventually a cement coffin was placed over the reactor to hold the radioactive material in.
