Episode 58: A Town Called Nope
Eyam England
In the 1600's a dark force came to the small village of Eyam outside of London.


Chatworth
A manor now famous for being the face of Pride and Prejudice, in the 1600 the Duke of Devonshire was less than supportive of his neighbors attempts to keep others safe.


William Mompesson
The new rector of Eyam he was not welcomed in the village due to religious unrest that was common in England during this time period. In an uncharacteristic move Mompesson joined forced with the previous, and popular, Rector to convince those within Eyam to quarantine and prevent the spread of the plague.


Boundary Stones
The residents of Eyam had an invisible boundary that they would not cross to prevent spread of the plague. They would leave coins in vinegar to sanitize them to get supplies from Chatworth and the Duke of Devonshire.


Hundreds of Deaths
Many families buried multple family members during the quarantine. One example is Elizabeth Hancock who buried her husband and six of her children in one week. Kyla feels that this woman is familiar. . .


Wait a minute. . . .
Kyla KNEW it, she found this as evidence. . . of what she is just not sure yet.
